Associates of Applied Science in Art Studies

An Associate of Applied Science (AAS) is a program that’s meant to prepare students for entry-level work.  The degree often involves a lot of lab work and/or hands-on instruction, as opposed to writing papers or lectures. Students who pursue this program usually want to get a job right away and may not have plans to further their education in an institution.

What is an Associate of Applied Science in Arts degree? This higher education degree is designed for creative types who want to build their skill set in the art world. Every program will vary, and some will focus on the overview of art. Students are usually able to work with a variety of forms, but they can also focus on a single specialty. Specialties often include animation, graphic design, photography, visual effects, sculpture, illustration, painting, and culinary arts.

An associate’s program can be beneficial for those who are better at hands-on learning. For those who don’t want to spend years in school and want to start making money right away, this type of program can prepare them for the working world.

The costs associated with earning an associate’s degree can vary quite a bit from one place to another. The degree is offered at a variety of international schools, so the cost factors include the location of the institution, the program duration, and all necessary supplies. Students should ask the school directly about tuition, fees, and other associated costs.

Earning an Associate of Applied Science in Arts degree might prepare graduates for work in their field of study. Most graduates start in entry level positions, but after time and once they have proven themselves, they may become eligible for higher paying positions. The jobs available depend on an individual’s focus of study, such as photography, sculpting, and culinary arts.
