What is an Associate of Applied Science in Arts degree? This higher education degree is designed for creative types who want to build their skill set in the art world. Every program will vary, and some will focus on the overview of art. Students are usually able to work with a variety of forms, but they can also focus on a single specialty. Specialties often include animation, graphic design, photography, visual effects, sculpture, illustration, painting, and culinary arts.

An associate’s program can be beneficial for those who are better at hands-on learning. For those who don’t want to spend years in school and want to start making money right away, this type of program can prepare them for the working world.
