Introduction
A blending of disciplines is becoming increasingly necessary to solve today’s complex industrial problems.
The name Mechatronics stems from combining mechanical and electronics. The technology is a new approach to design and development and allows you to combine several disciplines, including electronics, mechanics, robotics, instrumentation, and computer control systems. Together, industrial applications allow engineers and technicians to plan and design to solve complex industrial problems. Texas is among the largest employers in this field in the nation, and demand in the state continues to outpace the national average.
Mechatronics courses combine various disciplines to teach you a holistic approach to developing solutions for engineering applications. You will be able to add to your skillset practical knowledge in the integration of electrical systems, fluid power, electronics, computer controls, PLCs, instrumentation, robotics, and information technology. It’s an exciting interdisciplinary field that makes possible the generation of simpler, more economical, reliable, and versatile commercial and industrial products and equipment.
