Students who have earned a high school diploma may choose to pursue an associate degree at a college or university. This degree can be earned in one to three years, depending on the area of study. Some students may transfer into a four-year program, or begin a career using skills obtained through this course of study.

What is an associate degree in mechanical engineering? This program combines classroom instruction and practical application with research and project-based learning. Students may focus on higher mathematics, physics, chemistry, engineering, and drafting in order to learn more about machine function and other mechanical principles. General studies, including languages, written and oral communication, and social sciences may also be included for completion of this degree program. Students can gain proficiency in mechanical design and operation as well as interpretation of manufacturing and product development.

Along with specific mechanical engineering skills, students may benefit from this degree program by strengthening critical thinking, data analysis, and problem-solving abilities. These skills are highly desirable in manufacturing, engineering, and other industries.

The need for people who are educated in mechanical engineering has led to colleges and universities around the world offering associate’s degrees in this field. Costs can vary quite a bit based on institution and location. Students should contact the admissions office to learn more about expenses.

With a mechanical engineering associate’s degree, students can find work in a number of industries. Educated people are needed in product or machine design, as engineering technicians, and even for drafting or CAD operation. Both the private and private sectors have positions for apprentices and entry-level employees. Some students may prefer to earn a higher degree to be better qualified for a position with higher potential and more responsibility.

Full-time, part-time, and online classes allow students flexibility in balancing school with other responsibilities. If you are ready to begin an associate’s degree program, search for your program below and contact directly the admission office of the school of your choice by filling in the lead form.

As many companies bring back manufacturing jobs to the United States, the job outlook for mechanical engineering technicians is increasingly bright. Innovations in technology have drastically changed the manufacturing process. Now, high-skilled technicians are in-demand to help mechanical engineers design and build new technologies. Mechanical engineering technicians and technologists collaborate with engineers in the field to create tomorrow's inventions.

BFIT’s Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) Bachelor’s Degree program was created in response to the growing need for skilled workers in the manufacturing economy. This newly-designed 4-year-program will prepare you to serve as a bridge between the mechanical engineering technician and the mechanical engineer. Through a hands-on teaching approach, you will develop skills to provide technical support to mechanical engineers in the manufacturing of new and existing products in growing industries. This is the only conventional MET day program in Massachusetts.... [-]

The Associate of Science (AS) Marine Biology Emphasis is designed for students who intend to transfer to the University of Oregon (UO) and complete their degree at Oregon Institute of Marine Biology (OIMB), majoring in marine biology. The background offered by this major, however, is entirely appropriate for preparation for upper division emphasis in other professional fields like medical, dental, or veterinary school. This AS degree, as presented, also satisfies the requirements for an AA/OT for ease of transfer to UO. By completing general education requirements for the AA/OT, as well as the recommended science courses, students will be able transfer to UO and complete a BS in Marine Biology or a BS in Biology with Marine Biology Emphasis. Career options for marine biology graduates include jobs in state and federal government, advanced training for research and teaching in the marine sciences, and most other careers available to broadly trained biologists. The following program outline is one of many possible course configurations that would satisfy the requirements for an AS Marine Biology Emphasis and AA/OT transfer degree and also fulfill basic requirements for graduation from UO. Each student should meet with an advisor to determine appropriate sequence of courses to be taken, depending on placement scores, transfer credits, and other factors. Upon completion of an AS Marine Biology Emphasis (and AA/OT) and transfer to UO, additional courses need to be taken at the Eugene campus. These courses include organic chemistry CH331 and CH335, BI214, and physics (unless it was taken... [-]

Industrial maintenance technologists have only one goal: that the equipment works at its best. They work upstream, that is to say they intervene to prevent problems by setting up maintenance and control guides, they help to train other employees, they are valuable assets during the training. design and installation of equipment and are always looking for opportunities to improve material performance .

Of course, they can also provide diagnostics for breaks or breakdowns because they are extremely versatile , but after that they will be sure to provide advice and improvement strategies. And their versatility has no limit: hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, automation, mechanics, electricity, computers, robotics ... nothing is to their test!... [-]
