What is an associate degree in journalism? This program is designed for students who want to work in the media in some form. In many programs, students take a combination of general study classes and classes related to journalism. Some examples of course topics include news writing, AP style, news reporting, publication writing and media theories. Upon graduation, students should understand the basics of writing and reporting for both online and print media, and be able to write concisely and clearly in order to influence and inform modern society.

Students who pursue this degree benefit in that they gain knowledge in regards to researching and evaluating information that can help them pursue various employment opportunities.
