What is an associate degree in early childhood education? This degree prepares graduates to work with preschool-aged children in a childcare or educational setting. Courses are designed to enable a worker to be a nurturing and teaching caregiver to young children. Classes may include health; safety and nutrition; curriculum development; language and literacy development; art, music and nature appreciation and how to guide proper behavior.

A graduate of this type of degree program may develop many skills that are helpful in the workplace, including how to be a gentle leader, how to work as part of a team, and how to communicate effectively with adults and children. In addition, the graduate may find ample opportunities for employment or may choose to continue the educational process.
