This program provides graduates of recognized airframe and power plant programs the opportunity to expand their knowledge and training, and earn an associate of applied science degree. The degree requires graduation from a recognized the Aviation Maintenance Airframe and Powerplant program.

Degree Options

A.A.S. The A.A.S. degree program provides graduates of recognized airframe and powerplant programs the opportunity to expand their knowledge and training, and earn an Associate of Applied Science degree. To receive the A.A.S. degree, a student must complete all course requirements from an approved airframe and powerplant program. The degree program builds on the student’s previous knowledge and emphasizes current industry practices and related technical information. General education courses provide background in industrial, social, political and economic factors and their implications for the industry. Graduates of a recognized F.A.A. airframe and powerplant program may receive credit hours toward the degree based on their documentation (transcripts) and the recommendation of a college evaluator. Overview

The Institute of Aviation at Parkland College maintains a high level of quality in order to ensure the best outcomes for students. Located in Champaign, Illinois and with the help of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Frasca International, the Institute of Aviation at Parkland College is a leading collegiate flight school in Illinois and the only higher education institution in central Illinois with an aviation program. Located at Willard Airport, approximately eight miles from Parkland College’s main campus, the Institute of Aviation facility houses classrooms, student offices, various flight simulators, and air fleet.
