Program Description

The Community College Program matches you with the Engineering Studies program that best fits your needs. With YFU you will pursue your Associates Degree in the area of Engineering Studies while learning about life in the U.S. and your immediate community. Students have the opportunity to take courses in a variety of subjects in order to explore interests, expand knowledge, and participate in traditional American past-times and student activities.

A simple definition is applying math and science to solve real-world problems for the benefit of humankind! Almost everything around you was designed by an engineer. Engineers design, or help develop, products impacting your daily life.

The most common engineering concentrations are electrical engineering and mechanical engineering, with most other engineering concentrations derived from these. Engineering also takes up eight of the Top Ten majors with the highest starting salary!
