Nimbus Advanced Music Industry students gain up-to-the-minute skills in the music industry as it is today. Students of the Advanced Music Industry program will promote albums and gain real, practical experience, including how to successfully run and manage a modern media business.
MIND 100 – Introduction to the Music Industry & Entrepreneurship prepares you for a career in the music industry, whether as an artist, a producer, videographer or in a management position. You will learn how the music industry works, and gain the entrepreneurship skills to run your own business. The course culminates in a Career Development Plan with input and mentorship from instructors from multiple disciplines. The goal is to give you a solid plan for you and the career you want in the music industry. You will have an opportunity to present this plan to top professionals from the music industry, gaining their insight and perspective on your plan.
The MIND 200 course builds on the foundations of MIND 100, focusing on Music Industry Management. You will prepare for roles such as promoter, artist manager, tour manager, publicist and more. MIND 200 will result in a Business Plan based on your own unique goals: an artist development plan, a plan to launch your own promotions company, or launch your own label – or whatever plan is best tailored to your goals. Just like MIND100, you will have the opportunity to present your plan to industry professionals, getting their feedback. If you impress them, you may find new allies for your new business.
Music industry students benefit from mentorship and teaching from current, industry professionals. Ongoing networking opportunities also include guest lectures from top industry professionals.
Past guest speakers have visited us from: Nettwerk, Take Aim Media, The Feldman Agency, Universal Music Publishing, and more.
