Academy Professional (AP) degree in Public Service Management
Bachelor in Public Service Management IBCM The IBCM Public Service Management (PSM) bachelors program gives students the ability to meet the challenges of modern public sector management and reform. It covers a range of social, democratic and economic concepts such as human rights, innovation, development, and European integration. We aim to equip our students with a problem-solving mindset and a clear set of values to help them to meet the challenges facing public officials and modern citizens today. International and accredited degrees The program is taught in English and is based on the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). The courses are internationally recognized and transferable. All IBCM Students receive a double degree. This means that they get a diploma from IBCM and a diploma from our partner institution, Lillebaelt Academy for Professional Higher Education in Denmark. The Public Administration Department offers two qualifications: Bachelor degree in Public Service Management: 3.5 years/7 semesters (210 ECTS) Academy Professional (AP) degree in Public Administration: 2 years/4 semesters (120 ECTS) Real work experience All students complete a 5-6 month long, full-time internship in the 6th semester of studies. This experience gives students a chance to practically implement their knowledge and gain a thorough and meaningful understanding of the real world of work, and you will have the chance to focus on an issue that is interesting to you. Rich and varied study program As a PSM student, you will gain knowledge and skills in a wide range of areas related to modern public administration and management. In your first and second semester, the units studied include Effective Communication, European Union Studies, Poverty Reduction and Development, Human Development and Policy Development. In your third and fourth semesters, you will gain knowledge and skills in subjects such as: Human Rights and Administration, Applied Innovation, Project Management, Intercultural Communication, and Individual Socialization and Learning. In your fifth semester, you will study subjects such as Professional Organization and Citizens, and Legal Systems, before starting your mandatory 5-6 month internship in the sixth semester. To conclude your studies, in the seventh semester you will complete your bachelor thesis project. Diverse and exciting career prospects Career prospects include a huge range of occupations in the government, international and non-profit sectors. Our graduates go on to be public administrators, policy advisors, market research analysts, public agency directors, city managers, and local government officials, and more! Field trips As part of your study program, you will get the opportunity participate in field trips which complement and enhance your studies in the classroom. The costs of these trips are usually covered by IBCM. Study exchange opportunities IBCM can offer a limited number of international study exchange opportunities each year.
