This program is designed for advanced-level students who want to prepare for entry to an American university, to pursue an academic career, or simply to improve their general academic English. It is also recommended for those with a high level of English who are seeking challenging coursework that includes current topics in several academic fields.
The University Preparation Program is a twelve-week super intensive course. Students must complete BSML level 311, or have completed an advanced level at another school in order to be eligible for it.
In this program, students are introduced to college-level texts and assignments. There is an emphasis on reading comprehension, essay writing, and academic vocabulary. While learning how to do reading and writing assignments, students continue to improve their fluency in English by making presentations, learning how to ask questions correctly, and working together with classmates on team projects. Essential study skills such as note taking and summarizing are also included in the course.
