Program Description

The Academic English (AE) program is designed for students who have not met the English language requirements for the UMass Lowell Navitas Global Student Success Program (GSSP). 

Academic English is undertaken on a semesterly basis and consists of 20 hours of class per week. During Academic English students will focus on developing consistent competency, confidence, and effectiveness in listening, speaking, pronunciation and grammar/vocabulary skills, while reading, speaking and writing in English to meet college level entrance requirements.
