First of all, thank you for your interest. Let me introduce ourselves. Global Aviation is the oldest professional pilot academy in Greece, an international aviation organisation with more than 20 years of experience in professional pilot training. Global Aviation is based in the Civil Aviation Airport of Pachi (LGMG), Athens, Greece and is approved by EASA to offer commercial airplane pilot training courses such as the ATPL Integrated, ATPL Modular, CPL, IR, MEP and MCC. As exclusive distributor of Piper Aircrafts in Greece and the Balkans, since 1997, Global Aviation uses a modern fleet of 6 single, 2 multi-engine training airplanes and 2 FNPT II flight simulators (including MCC) that are based in the Civil Aviation Airport of Pachi in Athens Greece. All theoretical and flight training takes place in Athens, Greece, where the weather allows us to fly around 350 days per year. Moreover, Global Aviation is an EASA approved maintenance centre and the only certified Piper Service Centre in the region.

ATPL (A) Modular Course ATPL (A) Modular with CPL/IR/MEP is a combination of several training courses, which you can “divide” in 5 stages. The course begins with the Private Pilot License (PPL) course. After the successful completion of the PPL course, the student will proceed with the ATPL theoretical knowledge course (ATPL Distance Learning). During the ATPL theoretical training the student will continue with the VFR Navigation (Built-Up) flights, and then proceeds with the flight training, consisting of the following modules: the Multi Engine Class Rating MEP, the Multi Engine Instrument Rating IR(A)/SP/ME, the Night Qualification NIT and the Commercial Pilot License CPL(A). The duration of the course can vary depending on the student’s personal schedule. On average most students complete the course in 12 months.
Pre-entry Requirements: ü At least 18 years old ü Sufficient Knowledge of English language (no diploma required) ü Copy of High School Diploma (or higher) ü Medical Certificate Class 1 ü Copy of Passport ü Type D (Student) Visa (for non EU students only)
Modular Stage 1 - PPL The student will begin with the PPL course, which is consisting of two parts the theoretical and the flight training. For the theoretical training for the PPL, before undertaking the official HCAA PPL written examination, the student has to complete a series of approximately 15 private sessions (total approximately 40-50 hours of private lessons) with an instructor, covering the 9 PPL subjects and then proceed with the HCAA written examination. For the flight training of the PPL, the student has to complete at least 45 hours flight training, including no less than 35 hours dual training, and 10 hours Pilot-in-Command.
Modular Stage 2 – VFR Navigation (Built Up) Flights The second stage is the VFR Navigation (Built-Up) flights. Depending on how many hours the student has logged (from the PPL training) will need to reach at least 160 hours total, including 100 hours as PIC. During those hours, under the constant supervision of a flight instructor, the student will visit many Greek airports, and will complete at least one cross country trip 300 NM with two stops at aerodromes different from the base aerodrome, which is a requirement for the CPL training.
Modular Stage 3 – ATPL Theory Distance Learning The third stage is the ATPL theory. Before undertaking the official ATPL written examination, the student will complete a three-month distance learning commercial theoretical training. The 14 ATPL subjects are: (010) Air Law, (021) Aircraft General Knowledge, (022) Instruments & Electronics, (031) Flight Performance and Planning - Mass and Balance, (032) Performance, (033) Flight Planning & Monitoring, (040) Human Performance & Limitations, (050) Meteorology, (061) General Navigation, (062) Radio Navigation, (070) Operational Procedures, (081) Principles of Flight, (091) VFR Communications, and (092) IFR Communications. The course will comprise of self study, classroom work, inter-active video training, and sample exams. The theoretical course is using Bristol GS material. The requirements to complete the course are: · The minimum duration of 3 months from enrolling has been completed. · Both Modules must have been successfully completed (more than 90% syllabus progress) through the CBT provided. · An average result of at least 75% to each subject progress test through the CBT provided. · A Final Sample Exam result of at least 75% to each subject through the CBT provided or during the private lectures taking place in Greece. On average most students complete the ATPL theory and ATPL written examination in 6 months.
Modular Stage 4 – CPL/IR/ME When the ATPL theoretical exams and the required flight experience are completed, the student will begin with the CPL/IR/ME flight training. It is consisting of the following modules: the Multi Engine Class Rating MEP, the Multi Engine Instrument Rating IR/SP/ME, the Night Qualification NIT and the Commercial Pilot License CPL (A). The duration of the course can vary depending on the student’s personal schedule. The flight training comprises of a total of 81 hrs. Of those 15 hrs are conducted on single engine piston airplanes (SEP), 26 hrs on multi engine piston airplanes (MEP) and 40 hrs on an FNPT II flight simulator, including 21 VFR hrs and 60 IFR hrs. The flight training course commences with the Multi Engine Class Rating (MEP: 6 hrs), followed by the Multi Engine Instrument Rating (FNPT II: 40 hrs and MEP: 15 hrs), the Night Qualification Rating (SEP: 5 hrs), and is completed with the Commercial Pilot License (SEP: 10 hrs, MEP: 5 hrs). On average most students complete the flight training in 3 months.
Modular Stage 5 - MCC The final stage of the training is MCC, which comprises of a total of 20 hrs on the FNPT II-MCC flight simulator, of which 10 hrs are completed as Pilot Flying (PF) and 10 hrs as Pilot Monitoring (PM). The synthetic flight training is completed in 5 sessions. The duration of the course is one week.

Visa issuance The procedure for the visa application is simple. You send us your passport, and then pay a deposit of 1/3 (€18,000) of the total tuitions to our bank account, required by Greek authorities in order to be eligible to apply for a student visa (type-D). When we receive your payment, we send you an Invitation Letter and with that letter (together with your bank statement which shows the deposit of the money) you make an appointment to Greek Embassy (or Consulate) in your country and you start the procedure of visa issuance. The visa issuance procedure may take up to 3 months (the duration is depending on the security checks your application will go though by Greek authorities).
