Introduction
The Theatre program, offered through the Humanities Department, leads to an Associate in Science (AS) degree and provides students with skills and knowledge necessary to begin a career in the theatre Through a series of classes designed to lay the foundation of a concrete approach to working in the theatre, working on a variety fully-produced plays, devised theatre, and theatre for social justice, students gain vital knowledge and insight that prepares them not only to perform in theatre, but to engage with the world in which we live. Additionally, through a partnership with LaGuardia Performing Arts Center (LPAC), students have the opportunity to observe and work with top theatre and entertainment professionals in the creation of new work.
