English Language support

Overseas students are individually assessed for their required level of English language support. Each student has access to relevant support throughout their study programme – whether preparing for IELTS for university entrance, general study skills or sitting the English GCSE exam.

Advanced Graduate Programme

Academically ambitious students with a high-grade average on entry will join our specialist tutorial support group.

Entry requirements:

Successful applicants have completed at least 10, more commonly 11 years of education, to join an A level programme. Minimum entry requirements are 5 GCSEs at grade C or above or equivalent qualifications. We recognise worldwide education systems. Some subjects require a specific background subject and a higher grade average.

We offer some scholarships based on academic merit, selected after a deadline of 31st May each year. We automatically consider all applicants. Standard scholarships are worth 10% of the year’s tuition fees. An exceptional candidate may be considered for a 50% scholarship for the first year.

International tuition fees are £8,000 for 2017 entry. Accommodation in home-stays average at £155 per week for half-board (including breakfast, dinner and private bedroom), as do private halls for over 18-year-olds. The yearly accommodation cost is around £7,000.

Students typically study 3 subjects at A level or equivalent. You may study 4 subjects if you have a high-grade average and intend to apply to the most selective universities in the U.K. Our Advanced Graduate Programme supports all students with an ambition for Oxbridge and Russell Group universities. Visit our e prospectus for details of all subjects on offer.

To apply, simply complete an application form and email it back or visit our ‘How to Apply’ section for more details. To consider your application we also need the following:

  • Passport copy (or other official identification document)
  • School records and reports detailing all subjects studied and grades, attendance and behaviour
  • Copies of completed relevant qualifications (if applicable)

The campus is a securely gated campus surrounded by attractive playing fields. We place overseas students in home-stay accommodation, vetted and approved according to each student’s needs and preferences. We employ an expert British Council accredited placement company who ensure easy access to College and the centre of Bristol. Bristol is the cultural and economic capital of the south-west, with an international airport servicing 120 countries. London is 90 minutes by train, with Heathrow easily reached by coach or rail.

The College dates back to 1896, completely rebuilt in 2009 with £20 million capital investment to create a university standard and style environment. We pride ourselves on our exceptional pastoral care with a specialist team of tutors offering 1:1 support for students and dedicated Careers, Learning Development and Resources departments on campus.
