Oxford Business College is an independent education and training establishment specialising in a range of higher level business management courses, offering those embarking on their careers an alternative route to a degree, postgraduate or professional qualification. We are situated in the centre of Oxford, and therefore in a perfect position for you to enjoy all the tremendous attributes the city has to offer.
WHY CHOOSE OXFORD BUSINESS COLLEGE
Based in the heart of the city of Oxford, we specialise in a range of Business Management courses of varying durations. Each course is tailored specifically to the needs of today's student, with flexible start dates throughout the year, competitive fees and with scholarship places available.
HISTORY AND ACCREDITATIONS
The college was founded in 1985 with a distinct position in the post-18 independent educational sector, offering professional qualifications as a way into the job market without holding a degree. In particular the Chartered Institute of Marketing’s programme (CIM) was offered on a full-time basis as an alternative to a degree course.
While retaining the CIM franchise until 2008, the college has shifted from the provision of further education business qualifications towards higher education qualifications, such as the BTEC Higher National Certificate and Diploma, and BTEC level 7 Extended Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership. The college was accredited by Edexcel for the provision of BTEC Higher Nationals in 2005, with subsequent accreditation for the Travel and Tourism Management programme and the BTEC Professional programme achieved.
Oxford Business College was first accredited by the British Accreditation Council for Independent Further and Higher Education in 1995. It retained its accreditation with BAC until June 2015.
STUDENT ACCOMMODATION IN OXFORD
Oxford Business College is able to provide student accommodation in Oxford. The College Accommodation Officer is responsible for arranging our student accommodation for the majority of those on our courses.
The college offers student accommodation in Oxford City Centre at a hall of residence, highly suitable and convenient for students studying with us here in Oxford. The number of rooms are limited and are allocated on first come first served basis, therefore students are advised to apply in advance.
As well as student accommodation international students are given additional help in order for them to integrate more effectively into UK life - assistance in opening a UK bank account is an example of the type of help given.
The courses, facilities and the resources available to students at the College are only touched upon on this website, which is why we recommend you visit the College.
This gives you an opportunity to discuss individual academic and student accommodation requirements with the College’s experienced staff and to receive advice on the course that may be most suitable. If you are interested in a course at the College then please telephone to arrange a convenient time for an informal interview. International students may find it difficult to visit the College so, wherever possible, we recommend you consult a Local Agent that is working on behalf of the College.
Please note: Oxford Business College is based in the 1st and 2nd floor of a building with no wheelchair access and lift.
SPORTS AND SOCIAL
A number of sporting activities are available through the College. Squash, football, rowing and weight training/aerobic classes are popular activities among our students. The College social committee organises social events which culminate in a special end-of-term event. Pub evenings, paint-balling and black tie dinner at Blenheim Palace are just a few of the events that have been organised.
