Course in Intensive English The IEP – Intensive English Program – is subdivided into six levels and makes English unforgettable through multiple exposures to language, numerous opportunities to practice it, and an intensive recycling of the vocabulary. It prepares students to communicate in English with a diverse array of speakers from around the world, who have a wide range of native and non-native accents. An emphasis on cultural fluency enables students to navigate the social, travel, and business situations that they will encounter in their everyday lives. Upon completion, students should be able to: understand and use familiar vocabulary, expressions and basic grammar structures as well as interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help. understand and produce simple connected speech and text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest. Students will also be able to describe experiences, and brie y give their reasons and explanations for personal opinions and plans. understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics. They should be able to understand and use the target language more accurately and fluently. understand sentences and frequently expressions that are related to areas of most immediate relevance. Students will master the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc. communicate and exchange information on familiar topics of the student’s interest beyond immediate needs. They will understand more familiar situations that are likely to arise when requested to use the target language. understand a wide range of demanding communication situations in social, academic and professional settings and produce clear, well-structured, detailed speech and text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organizational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices. Elective courses • Writing This course helps students improve their writing skills in preparation for further academic work. Our teachers will provide helpful techniques, tips, and advice to improve student’s confidence. As student progress, they will gain the confidence to compose and understand text with security and creativity. • Pronunciation This course helps students recognize and produce the sounds of words through rhythm, stress, and intonation patterns of American English. As students progress, they will build linguistic independence which will motivate them to practice their conversation skills outside the classroom. Level 01 Upon completion, students will be able to understand and use familiar vocabulary, expression and basic grammar structure and interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help. Level 02 Upon completion, students will be able to understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance and the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc. Level 03 Upon completion, students will be able to understand and produce simple connected speech and text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest and describe experiences, briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans. Level 04 Upon completion, students will be able to communicate and Exchange information on familiar topics of the student’s interest beyond immediate needs and understand most familiar situations likely to arise when requested to use the target language. Level 05 Upon completion, students will be able to understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics and understand and use the target language more accurately and fluently. Level 06 Upon completion, students will be able to understand a wide range of demanding communication situation in social, academic and professional settings and produce clear, well-structured, detailed speech and text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organizational patters, connectors and cohesive devices. Duration of each level = 4 terms (192 hours) ::: 1 term = 4 weeks Students can register for the morning or evening program at the times below: Visa Students (F-1) must study at least 18 hours per week. Placement Test Upon arrival, students will take a Placement Test (written and oral) to assess their knowledge of the English language. It will take approximately 60 minutes and students will be placed into the class level based on the results of their placement test. Orientation Session After taking the Placement Test, students participate in an Orientation Session, in which they are given all student-related materials, including their course schedule. After this session, they are presented to the class, classmates, and teacher. [-]

TOEFL Preparation Thinking of studying at a college or university in the United States? Taking the TOEFL® is a necessary step for any non-US educated student who wants to study in North America. It is also increasingly required from other educational institutions throughout the world, as well as a desired or mandatory job qualification. TOEFL® is an abbreviation for Test of English as a Foreign Language. It measures your ability to communicate in English in colleges and universities and is accepted by 7,000+ destinations in more than 130 countries. It is the most widely accepted English-language test in the world. In the TOEF®L exam, the four language skills, which are effective for communication, are tested. These are reading, listening, speaking, and writing. TOEFL® exists in two versions; the internet based (iBT) and paper based. These days, most of the TOEFL® centers use the internet based one. The test is convenient because you can take it from any of the centers and it only requires a couple of hours to complete. We will provide you with a very comprehensive study focused on techniques and strategies on how to master the components required by the test, such as reading comprehension, listening, and writing. The TOEFL iBT® Preparation course has been set up to be taken by the students who have already completed our general advanced level 6 or as a private course. It prepares students to achieve competitive scores on the TOEFL iBT® by focusing on test-taking strategies. Special emphasis is placed on the independent and integrated tasks of the TOEFL®, including reading, listening, writing, and speaking.
