We currently offer five courses, the Miss Vogue Weekend Course (16-18 year olds), the one-week Fashion Journalism Course, the one-week Fashion Styling Course, four-week Vogue Intensive Summer Course, the ten-week Vogue Fashion Certificate and the year-long Vogue Fashion Foundation Diploma. Miss Vogue Course

The Miss Vogue Course is a two-day programme suitable for sixteen to eighteen year olds. This weekend course offers a unique view of the fashion industry via the lens of Miss Vogue, the biannual supplement directly appealing to British Vogue’s younger audience. Aimed at those interested in learning more about the exciting world of fashion, the courses will offer a broad introduction to the industry and the career paths it can offer. Specifically, the courses will address key areas such as which designers shape the fashion industry, how trends develop, the importance of branding in fashion, how a magazine is created, what happens behind the scenes of a fashion shoot and a fashion show, what jobs the fashion industry offers and which skills and qualifications are needed for these roles. Each weekend course will be able to accommodate 60 students. Please note that we do not provide accommodation and our care provision for students only extends to class hours. One Week Fashion Journalism Course

The Condé Nast Fashion Journalism course is an intensive one-week programme to introduce students to a range of practical skills and essential information on the subject. [+]

During the course, students will research and develop ideas for articles before going on to create a website that will act as a showcase for their personal body of work. Students will hear from Condé Nast staff and other fashion media experts on a range of related subjects such as understanding the masthead, the editor’s role, conducting interviews and readership profiling. As well as examining the work of inspiring writers and editors and exploring the language of fashion, they will also find out how magazines operate, how to generate revenue from media content, and the key differences between print and digital formats. The course gives an insight into what goes on behind the scenes of a Condé Nast magazine and the skills required to build a successful career in fashion journalism. Entry Requirements Applicants on these courses must be 18 years or older to enroll, and non native-English speakers are required to be proficient in written and spoken English. One Week Fashion Styling Course

The Condé Nast College Fashion Styling course is an intensive one-week programme to introduce students to a range of practical skills and essential information on the subject. [+]

During the course, students will develop ideas for a studio-based fashion shoot before going on to work with a team of industry professionals to create their own fashion images. Students will also plan and photograph a still life accessories shoot. They will hear from fashion industry experts on a range of related subjects such as street photography, creating look-books and shopping pages, styling celebrities, and researching trends. As well as examining the work of inspiring stylists and photographers, students will also find out how agencies work, how products are sourced for shoots and the key differences between editorial and advertising work. The course gives an insight into the work that goes into creating fashion images and the skills required to attain a successful career in styling. The Vogue Intensive Summer Course is a four week programme suitable for students from a wide range of backgrounds, including school leavers and graduates hoping to work in fashion, as well as those who are seeking a new career path. Course sessions 11 July - 5 August 2016 Course Summary This course is a concentrated four-week programme that offers a broad introduction to the fashion industry via the lens of British Vogue. As the iconic magazine of every style-conscious generation, this course uses the multifaceted world of Vogue and the wider Condé Nast portfolio (including GQ, Tatler, Love, Glamour, etc.) to give students a unique insight into the fashion industry today. Although British Vogue acts as the catalyst for a deeper exploration of the world of fashion, this course also draws upon the broader influences that inform this fast-paced and exciting industry. The course will touch on everything from journalism, PR, marketing, advertising, styling, art direction, retail and the international fashion calendar. London provides the backdrop to this intensive study programme, with visits to galleries, events and exhibitions contributing to an exceptional experience. What better lens than the Condé Nast family of magazines and digital platforms to explore the major themes in fashion? The course is an intensive study programme with classes and activities Monday through Friday, from approximately 10am to 5pm. The Vogue Fashion Foundation Diploma is an intensive one-year programme that is suitable for students from a wide range of backgrounds, including school leavers, graduates of other disciplines hoping to work in fashion, or those seeking a new career path. The primary aim is to enhance students’ creative and communication skills within the context of the wider fashion industry, as well as facilitating the development of a strong portfolio with a clear professional direction. Term 1: The first term follows the same structure as the Vogue Fashion Certificate, providing an intensive overview of the fashion industry across three key areas: Culture and Context of Fashion, Fashion Media, and Fashion Business and Marketing. The first term facilitates the development of essential professional and academic skills (such as research, analysis, and project management) that will be utilised throughout the course. Term 2: The second term allows students to work on industry projects, set in collaboration with established fashion companies. Previous industry projects have been created in partnership with illustrious brands such as Louis Vuitton, Jaeger, Fenwick and Condé Nast titles GQ and Glamour. Each industry project includes the core elements of market research and analysis and fashion brand communication, with each brief offering the flexibility to focus on an area of personal interest. Past students have used the industry project to concentrate on a varied range of topics, including: e-commerce, visual merchandising and display, PR and events, and styling. Term 3: In the final term all students complete an individual fashion project, concentrating fully on a specialism of their choice. In consultation with tutors, students develop a project proposal based on their main area/s of interest. The curriculum in the final term is a series of focus weeks that look at key topics introduced in terms one and two. Currently these are: Retail & Exhibition Design Fashion Buying Fashion Photography & Styling Fashion Journalism PR & Events Fashion Entrepreneurship Ethical issues in fashion During these focus weeks, students continue to develop visual communication, software, and project management skills, as well as continuing to concentrate on career goals. Throughout the year there are opportunities to engage in professional developing planning, with all students encouraged and supported to graduate with a CV and portfolio appropriate to their career aspirations. Entry Requirements Diploma applicants will also be expected to have completed the Three Stage application process (see below), to have a good command of the English language (see the English Language Requirements section) and the minimum of the qualifications: 3 GCSEs (grade A-C) or BTEC National Diploma 1 GCE A Level (grade A-C)/AVCE or International Baccalaureate The Condé Nast College also takes into consideration a range of alternative equivalent qualifications and relevant work experience, so you are welcome to apply even if you don’t meet these academic standards. Vogue Fashion Certificate

This ten-week course has been designed to give students a uniquely intensive grounding in all aspects of the fashion [+]

This ten-week intensive course has been designed to give students a unique insight into the fashion industry. The course is divided into three main areas of study: The Culture and Context of Fashion, Fashion Media, and Fashion Business and Marketing. The Culture and Context of Fashion unit examines how fashion is shaped by developments in technology and the wider economic, political and cultural environment. The unit project is intended to encourage the development of written, visual and digital communication skills, as well as the ability to effectively research and analyse information. Key topics include: The evolution of fashion in the 20th Century, the fashion cycle and trend forecasting During the Fashion Media unit students analyse recent developments in digital media and assess how these impact on the magazine industry. The aim is also to increase understanding of the varied roles within a magazine, as well as the process of creating a new issue of a Condé Nast title. The project for this topic involves working in a team and developing a range of relevant skills, including: InDesign, Photoshop, ideas generation, and verbal and interpersonal communication. The Fashion Business and Marketing unit allows students to focus on an area of personal interest within the fashion industry. The unit project is to develop a business strategy, which is communicated in visual, verbal and written formats. This could be a strategy for an established fashion brand or a business plan for a new start-up. Key topics include: principles of marketing, PR, buying and merchandising, and branding. The aim is also to provide students with a range of opportunities to increase their practical experience, such as providing an opportunity to plan and styling a fashion shoot in the college photography studio. From the outset, students are encouraged and supported in producing extremely high-quality work that will help serve their professional profile and career ambitions. Throughout the course, students will also focus on their own career development. In addition to this, students will have a busy schedule of industry, museum and gallery visits plus personal study time in order to produce the highest possible standard of project work. This is a full-time course. Students will be required to attend classes for a minimum of fifteen hours of formal lectures and seminars each week.
