AIS Airlines is a regional airline based at Lelystad Airport. We provide flexible service for customers looking for Wet Lease, full charter capacity and scheduled flights throughout Europe. With our fleet consisting of 10 BAe Jetstream 32 turbo-props we are the biggest regional carrier in Scandinavia and also operate in Germany, Switzerland and Croatia. We have plans to expand our fleet by adding a Boeing 737 aircraft within 2 years and introduce more routes. All First Officers are recruited from AIS Flight Academy.

AIS Technics takes care of all the maintenance of AIS Flight Academy and AIS Airlines. The facilities are based at Lelystad and cover a great area of work. Due to the facilities, AIS Technics can offer excellent and efficient service to other companies within the AIS Group. The training to become a commercial pilot is a fulltime study and is completed in approximately 22 months.
The training to become a commercial pilot is a fulltime study and is completed in approximately 22 months. After successfully completing the training, one will obtain a Frozen ATPL license. This license enables the student to apply for a position as first officer at any airline worldwide. The total training consists of the following phases:
Multi Crew Coordination (MCC) Course
Type rating B737 or BAe Jetstream 32
The training is divided into a theoretical and practical phase. The theoretical training is completed in 8 months and the practical is completed in 14 months. Once you complete the theoretical phase with sufficient result you will receive an offer of employment and carry on with your practical training and become a first officer for AIS Airlines (When you decide to take the Cadet Scheme pathway).
The basic fee for the theoretical ATPL training cost €9.500,-. After passing the first phase with sufficient result you will receive an offer of employement as a first officer at AIS Airlines and only then you will carry on with the second phase of the training.
If you decide not to take the Cadet Scheme with AIS Airlines or if you are not eligible, you are free to carry on with the practical training.
The fees of the second phase is €123.000,-

750 hours classroom education and lectures
All examination fees
Flight hours on the TB-9 and TB-10 for VFR and IFR training
Flight hours on the FNPT II simulators
Flight hours on the Cessna 303 Crusader for the Multi Engine rating

If you opt out from the Cadet Scheme the fees of the second phase will be €103.000,- and training will be completed without a type rating. Travel expenses to the facility and the costs of living and housing during your training are not included.
AIS Flight Academy has developed a Type Rating B737 training programme which contains computer baised training (CBT), cockpit procedure training as well as practical training sessions in the full motion simulator.
The Boeing 737 is the best-selling jet airliner in the history of aviation and has been manufactured by Boeing since 1967. Both experienced and starting pilots can get a type rating on this aircraft. AIS Flight Academy has developed a Type Rating B737 training programme which contains computer baised training (CBT), cockpit procedure training as well as practical training sessions in the full motion simulator.
AIS Flight Academy offers a Boeing 737 Type Rating for a great price. Together with our German, Scandinavian and British partners we offer you well trained and experienced instructors. Regardless if you already have jet experience or just finished your pilot training, we will provide you with an appropriate training in the Boeing 737 cockpit.
According to European law, an applicant for the first type rating course must meet the following requirements:
[…] Applicant shall be a student pilot currently undergoing training on an MPL training course or comply with the following requirements:
have at least 70 hours of flight experience as PIC on aeroplanes;
hold a multi-engine IR(A);
have passed the ATPL(A) theoretical knowledge examinations in accordance with this Part; and
except when the type rating course is combined with an MCC course:
hold a certificate of satisfactory completion of an MCC course in aeroplanes; or
hold a certificate of satisfactory completion of MCC in helicopters and have more than 100 hours of flight experience as a pilot on multi-pilot helicopters; or
have at least 500 hours as a pilot on multi-pilot helicopters; or
have at least 500 hours as a pilot in multi-pilot operations on single-pilot multi-engine aeroplanes, in commercial air transport in accordance with the applicable air operations requirements.
