Airline Academy of Australia

Introduction

The Airline Academy of Australia is fully owned by the Royal Queensland Aero Club - a 100 year old not-for-profit organisation, globally renowned as one of the oldest and most prestigious flying institutions. We are the official and exclusive Qantas Cadet Programme partner for the Griffith University Bachelor of Aviation programme and our head of training is the Boeing Asia-Pacific Training Manager, Captain Ray Heiniger. The Academy is one of only nine flight training providers appointed globally to deliver ab-initio training through the Jeppesen Flight Training Network, which is part of the Boeing Pilot Development Programme.

Since our first training contract with Qantas in 1929, the Academy has received airline cadet groups and sponsored students from all over the world. In 2015, in recognition of the large number of pilots required over the next 10 to 15 years, we opened our programmes to individual self sponsored students in order to provide access to very high standard pilot training for passionate individuals who are not part of cadet programme. We warmly welcome all new comers to the industry and look forward to supporting you every step of the way!
