Postgraduate Diploma in Computing

The Postgraduate Diploma in Computing qualification offers three study routes to provide you with an advanced level knowledge of computing. The flexible study route allows computing practitioners to pursue their career goals by gaining knowledge, skills and techniques. Alternatively you can choose a specialist route to study either Information security and forensics or Software engineering in more depth. A wide choice of industry relevant modules should ensure you stand out in the computing crowd. Success in the postgraduate diploma will allow you to progress to study the MSc in Computing.

Designed for those with a bachelors degree in computing or a related discipline, or who have relevant industrial experience in this area and have demonstrated they can study at postgraduate level, this qualification brings together theory and practice and allows you to draw on your own background and experience. With the aim of developing a professional approach to the study and application of computing, this qualification incorporates study and helps develop transferable skills applicable to your employment and continuing professional development.

For the flexible route to the Postgraduate Diploma in Computing, you need to complete four 30-credit modules and this allows you the maximum flexibility to choose modules from our computing and related curriculum. This route is designed to meet the varied requirements of industry allowing you to choose the relevant modules required for your specific career needs.

The specialist routes to the Postgraduate Diploma in Computing (Information Security and Forensics) and Postgraduate Diploma in Computing (Software Engineering) each have two compulsory modules, and two optional modules from the remaining computing and computing-related curriculum. The compulsory modules are designed to give you in-depth, specialist knowledge in these areas, while the optional modules allow you to focus on additional knowledge and skills for your chosen career path.

On successful completion of any of the routes to the Postgraduate Diploma in Computing you could choose to go on to study for our MSc in Computing.
