Overview

The Graduate Diploma in International Tourism and Hospitality Management is designed to meet the needs of learners who wish to establish a firm grounding in the Tourism and Hospitality sector and gain progression opportunities. This programme focuses on the functional areas of tourism and hospitality management within an organisation and how these disciplines integrate at operational level. It aims to identify links with overall corporate strategy and the achievement of short, medium and long term objectives.

Structure

There are 240 credit points for this qualification and learners are required to complete the following units. Each unit comprises of 30 credits.

  • Unit 1: Tourism, Concept and Practice
  • Unit 2: Marketing for Hospitality and Tourism
  • Unit 3: Front Office Management
  • Unit 4: Economics for Tourist Destinations
  • Unit 5: Human Resource Management
  • Unit 6: Accounting for Hospitality Managers
  • Unit 7: Organisational Context and Management
  • Unit 8: Research Methods for Hospitality and Tourism Management

Assessment

Units are typically assessed by individual assessment.

Each unit is assessed through an assignment of 2500-3000 words in length to meet the assessment criteria detailed within each unit.

Entry Requirements

The entry requirements set below are intended for guidance only, as applicants may apply with a wide variety of backgrounds and qualifications.

Our recognised centres will assess all applicants to ensure they are able to meet the demands of the qualification.

Candidate must fulfil at least one of the following criteria to be allowed entry to this programme,

  • Level 3 or equivalent qualification with 1 years’ work experience in hospitality and tourism industry to get direct entry in Graduate Diploma in International Tourism and Hospitality Management OR
  • Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management QCF/NQF Level 4 or equivalent OR
  • Any qualification deemed equivalent to one of the above.

If you are an overseas student studying in the Poland, you must ensure that both you and the institute (study centre) meet the Polish government criteria. Applicants applying from the outside of the Poland must demonstrate the evidence of the equivalence of the qualification to a Polish degree or Equivalent.
