What Does This Course Cover?
The HND uses the credits from the HNC and enhances these with a further 6 or 8 modules (dependent on your HNC route) to form a 240 credit qualification.
Subjects like electrical & electronic principles, instrumentation and control, utilisation of electrical energy, applications of power electronics, further analytical methods and further electrical principles are examples of the modules that are selected.
Are There Any Entry Requirements?
You will normally have achieved a Level 3 qualification such as A levels or a BTEC National with at least 80 UCAS points, plus a Level 2 qualification in English.
Mature candidates will be considered on an individual basis.
To progress to Year 2 you will be expected to achieve the Level 4 HNC Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in Year 1.
What Will This Course Cost Me?
The HNC course will cost £2250 each year. The course is two years in duration so the total cost of the course is £4500. If you are completing the full HND the course fees are £4500 per year, £9000 in total.
What Can I Do After This Course?
On successful completion of this course you can either gain employment or study towards a B.Eng. or BSc. degree course or Professional qualifications. The level of entry onto to any subsequent degree will be based upon your outcome and profile on the HND and the ongoing university entry requirement. Final year top-up cannot be guaranteed
