FdEng Civil Engineering
This is a vocational course designed to give you the skills and knowledge you'll need to enjoy a career in civil engineering. If you prefer a more practical approach to study, this is the ideal way to become a technical engineer.
It has been accredited for Engineering Technician level by the Joint Board of Moderators, and it is also accredited by The Engineering Council. It's also an excellent route to the final stage of our BSc (Hons) Civil Engineering course.
There will be a mixture of face-to-face lectures, practical work and work based learning. Work based learning gives you credit for activities undertaken by yourself in the workplace. You'll be assessed by a mixture of assignments, group work, presentations, logbook and examinations. You'll use a range of the latest equipment in our civil engineering labs to experiment on construction materials, the strength and rigidity of structures and the movements and properties of fluids.
