Live sound is one of the fastest growing areas in the field of music technology and sound engineering. This exciting two year degree course is very practical, with a focus on the skills needed to progress into a successful career in Live Sound, such as mixing technologies, acoustics, equipment operation, analogue and digital live sound production, listening skills and professional practices.
The majority of the course takes place in our own venue, the 400 capacity dBs Live in the centre of Plymouth. The course is validated by the University of Plymouth and is delivered by dBs Music in partnership with City College Plymouth.
As with all dBs Music courses you will spend most of your study time with your hands on the very best gear. You will be working in real venues with real sound engineers. This gives passionate students the opportunity to see working engineers do their thing and opens possibilities for actual working relationships with experienced live sound specialists.
