This course aims to put you on track to gaining basic skills in Luxury Accessory design and giving you professional guidance during the process of researching, designing and imagining an accessories collection.
The course will propel you into the extensive world of accessory design, focusing specifically on small leather goods, eyewear, jewellery and millinery. Luxury Design excels in the area of accessories design.
This course will focus on the dichotomy between the key-principles of design and a necessary technical know-how. The course will provide you with general knowledge and a view into the mastery of traditional techniques such as sewing, enamelling, embossing and chiselling and modern techniques such as laser cutting, 3D printing, plating methods and innovative sustainable applications. All these ideas will be explored by experimenting with, on the one hand, more traditional materials such as wood, leather and metal and on the other, resins, plastics, tech fibres etc.
Throughout the course, the focus will be on designing a collection of various accessories and will allow you to experiment and create their components. You will be constantly guided during the whole process and tutored in developing initial design ideas through to the realisation of prototypes.
