Program Description

Diploma/Graduate Diploma in Forensic Science

University of Kent, School of Physical Sciences

Diploma/Graduate Diploma in Forensic Science

Both these courses are studied full-time over one year. The Graduate Diploma in particular is designed to be ideal as a conversion course for those with a first degree in a scientific subject such as chemistry or biology, who wish to move into a career in the field of forensic science.

A Diploma in Forensic Science is awarded on successful completion of a year's programme consisting of 120 credits at least 90 of which must be Level I or above chosen from the Level I and H modules listed below. To be eligible for the award of a graduate diploma students have to obtain 120 credits, at least 60 of which must be Level H or above. Some combinations of modules may be unavailable due to possible timetabling clashes. The modules generally assume knowledge of level C or I material so you need to provide evidence that you have studied courses to the required level. The Admissions Officer will deal with enquiries concerning admission and entry requirements, and each application will be treated on its merits. A tutor from the School of Physical Sciences will act as an academic adviser over your choice of programme and will also deal with any academic matters arising during the year.
