This course will equip you with the skills you need to design and validate/evaluate electronics and communications equipment and systems. You will learn how to develop, select, commission, maintain and diagnose faults in electronic and communications components, subassemblies, apparatus and systems. You will develop skills that will enable you to plan and initiate alternative approaches to addressing a broad range of technical and management requirements.

Units

To achieve this qualification, a total of 7 core units must be achieved and a combination of elective units totalling 1460 weighting points. Your institute will determine the elective units for this qualification. Core units:

  • Participate in development and follow a personal competency development plan
  • Apply Occupational Health and Safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace
  • Implement and monitor energy sector
  • OHS policies and procedures
  • Document and apply measures to control
  • OHS risks associated with electrotechnology work
  • Commission electronics and communications systems
  • Modify/redesign of electronics and communications systems
  • Implement and monitor energy sector environmental and sustainable energy policies and procedures
