If you're a team player who loves to work with numbers, you may want to consider a career in Accounting. Business Accounting Technicians support all of the administrative functions for accounting departments, which includes assisting in the production and distribution of weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reports. In the Business Accounting Technician program, you’ll learn about both manual and computerized accounting. Through a series of lectures and hands-on learning, you can be confident that you will leave CDI College with the knowledge and clerical skills you’ll need to succeed. Courses include Business Communications, Manual Accounting and Computerized Accounting. The course material is easy to understand and online progress checks provide immediate feedback.

Career Opportunities


Accounting skills, combined with office skills, are in demand in small businesses. In larger firms and government offices, graduates are employed in specialized areas such as Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.

Prerequisites


• Grade 12 or equivalent OR mature student status (19 years of age and one year out of high school).


• Passing score on the entrance examination.


Note: Advanced Credit may be given for prior education upon submission of transcripts. Challenge tests may be administered.

Graduation Requirements


In order to graduate and receive a diploma, a student must obtain an average of at least 60% in each course of the program.


A student must complete the hours of the Student Success Strategies and Career and Employment Strategies courses for the program.
