Strategy, Marketing and Commissioning - Advanced Professional Development [Level HE7] part-time \ The course is based on the principle that the provision and commissioning of services are two sides of the same coin and both activities should be underpinned by robust models of strategic planning and marketing. You will use your own service as a case study for developing a strategic plan for the development of service provision and / or commissioning. You will learn about strategy, marketing and competition in care sector organisations; the communication and implementation of service change and notions and models of commissioning / procurement and provision. You will examine ‘supply’ in the market and evidence-based ‘needs analysis’, knowledge and relationships in strategy. You will carry out strategic and stakeholder analysis and also cost benefit analysis based on the impact of technological innovation and you will study generating and evaluating strategic options for service delivery / commissioning. The course is flexible and designed to fit in with your home and working lives. Strategic Management and Marketing - Advanced Professional Development [Level HE7] part-time The course aims to provide you with a critical understanding of the strategic management process, and the contribution of strategic marketing to that process. It will integrate material from other aspects of management theory within a strategic management framework. Competitor analysis, marketing analysis and planning are explored in this course. You will gain a strong insight into strategic management at all levels; from business and corporate level strategies to content of competitive strategies, as well as strategic evaluation. Corporate governance, responsibility and business ethics are also key to this course. This course is equivalent to 200 learning hours. The course will use formal lectures, group discussions and case studies. Initially lectures will be used to develop your knowledge of the concepts underpinning the study of strategic management.
