Throughout the Total Design Course all the basic theoretical and practical aspects of design will be covered and projectual facets are examined through workshops and lessons, encompassing all the main subjects for the professional exercise of design and project culture. The IED Madrid is a space for training, research and innovation where students work on creative and multidisciplinary projects, forming part of teams at companies. The academic year culminates with a project in the form of a competition. In this case it will be for the firm Tetra Pak andGlenfiddich. In previous editions, students have worked with companies such as MUJI, HOSS Intropia, Skunkfunk, VANS, Hendricks, Alvarno, Baruc Corazón, and The Art Company. The Total Design One Year Courses are given in English and Spanish. This discipline is often related to technical aspects and to applications from a manual. This course incorporates the project-related methodological knowledge which needs to be taken into account in an interior design project so that students can acquire the technical skills that are necessary for the functionality for which the space is intended, and so that the light is an essential variable in the project. The course consists of three modules which deal with the technical basis of lighting and the project concepts which students have to know in order to master the technical and creative skills of the interior designer so that they can guarantee a professional, high-quality response to interior design projects. GENERAL AIMS OF THE TRAINING To provide the project tools and techniques appropriate to the design of interior lighting. To develop the ability to study in depth and to reflect about the representational techniques that are most appropriate for the expression of light in the project. To increase knowledge about the technical aspects (technological resources, novelties in the market, etc.) which are necessary for the resolution of lighting projects in interior spaces.
