Course Studies in Business in England in United Kingdom. This accredited course follows on the PRINCE2® Foundation course and provides an understanding of how the method works in practice. The course completes the coverage of the contents of Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2®, the official manual of the method, which was published by the Cabinet Office (CO) in 2009. The CO's manual explains in its forward: "Today, complex projects often involve several organisations working together in partnership or through contractual agreements to achieve the objectives. PRINCE2® provides a common language between organisations and with external suppliers. It also allows a focus on the Business Case, providing a mechanism to define what the project is trying to achieve, and the rationale and business justification for it." At the end of the course a 2.5-hour multiple choice test takes place, which leads to the sought-after PRINCE2® Practitioner certificate. Course content The course is designed to put the PRINCE2® concepts into practice and to prepare for the test that leads to the PRINCE2® Practitioner certificate. The course begins where the Foundation course left off by going into more detail on each of the themes and processes that make up the method. By the end, the all-important fourth element of the method, which demands that the method is always tailored to fit the project’s environment, is explained and demonstrated. The topics covered include: overview of PRINCE2® the seven PRINCE2® themes the seven PRINCE2® processes tailoring PRINCE2® Teaching and assessment As the practitioner course follows on the PRINCE2® Foundation course, where the method, its philosophy and its terminology are introduced, it focuses on the more intricate aspects of the method. Based on a case study, the method is put into practice through a series of challenging questions that mirror the questions of the formal test. The course consists of a series of interleaved lectures and seminars, but this time the emphasis is on the seminars where the method is put into practice with the help of case studies. The lectures are designed to remind how the method operates while the seminars take on the principles and apply them to a well trodden case study. The comprehensive course handbook, containing all the course’s slides, which most students would have met in the foundation course, is used along with the case study which was also introduced prior to this course. By assuming familiarisation with the method, the course can proceed at a pace that helps the visualisation of the method’s concepts. Each seminar ends with sample multiple choice questions that prepare us for the certificate examination. Fees Fees include lectures, lecture materials, two sample examination papers and the examination. Entry Requirements The course is open to anyone with a PRINCE2 ® Foundation certificate. However, candidates should continue to familiarise themselves with the methods manual and study for around five hours before the first day of training. Study is also required between training days. Candidates cannot sit for the Practitioner exam unless they have passed the Foundation exam. [-]

Choose subjects you are interested in and think you will enjoy. You are then more likely to work hard and achieve good grades. [+]

A Level Course Excellent results from 2014's A-Level students... 23% obtained A* or A grades and 73% A* to C! Why Choose an A Level course? In most countries, students have a general school education and only start to specialise in the subjects of their choice when they enter university. This is one reason why many students choose to come to the UK to join an A Level course, which allows them to choose the three or four subjects in which they are really interested and learn about these subjects in depth. Universities appreciate this knowledge and students who take an A Level course may apply to any university in the UK. How to make your subject choice Choose subjects you are interested in and think you will enjoy. You are then more likely to work hard and achieve good grades. Decide if the subjects you are considering will suit your strengths, such as essay-writing or working with numbers. Look at the requirements for the career you hope to enter and the university course you will take to reach this career objective. For example, if you want to study medicine at university you will need to take Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. If you want to become an Engineer you will need to take Mathematics and Physics. For Economics and some Business degree courses you will probably be asked for A Level Mathematics. Help in making the right choice In Abacus College we will advise you if you are having any difficulty in deciding which course or which subjects you should take. You may like help in deciding whether a University Foundation Programme or an A Level course is the better way to prepare yourself for entering a university. If you have already chosen an A Level course you may not be certain which are the right subjects for you. If you would like to discuss your future education, we shall be very happy to help you either by phone at +44 (0)1865 240111 or by email at info@abacuscollege.co.uk. A Level course duration Two Year Course Students who have just completed GCSE, IGCSE or an overseas equivalent would normally enrol on the two year A Level course which starts in September. Other students entering this course may have just completed an English language course, in Abacus College’s partner language school Oxford Language Centre or elsewhere. All students are helped, at the start of the first year, to understand the language and terminology of the subjects they are studying. They will then complete the work for the AS examinations, which are taken in May/June. In the second year of the course students study towards the A2 examinations and may also be given the opportunity of improving the marks obtained in the AS examinations, if necessary. Five Term Course This is a shortened version of the two-year course. It starts in January and students prepare for the AS examinations in May/June. The second year is a full year, from September to June, at the end of which the A2 examinations are taken. The five-term course will be a good idea for students who need a term of intensive English first in Oxford Language Centre from September to December in order to obtain the necessary IELTS score for entry to A Level. One Year Intensive Course If you have already taken an A Level course and wish to improve your grades you may enrol for this course. If you have excellent secondary school qualifications and are prepared to commit fully to hard work, or if you are a mature student needing to shorten your study time, this course may be suitable. IF YOU ANSWERED YES TO ANY/ALL OF THESE QUESTIONS, THEN IT’S TIME TO CONSIDER YOUR NEXT STEPS VERY CAREFULLY. ARE YOU READY TO TAKE ACTION TO TURN YOUR DREAMS INTO REALITY? DO YOU HAVE THE COURAGE TO MAKE THE TOUGH DECISIONS TO HELP YOU GET THERE? Straight Talk About Your Music Industry Career: If you’re going to be successful as a record executive, label owner or band manager, you really need to be smart and deliberate regarding your choice of music school. There are many options out there, but many schools charge far too much money and don’t offer any real connection to the music industry itself. By choosing one of these schools, you run the risk of taking on career-crushing amounts of student debt for little or no return on your investment. And for someone trying to make it in the music business, that can halt your career before it ever starts. Don’t be that guy or girl. Don’t make the mistake of spending $25,000, $50,000 or $100,000 for a music school education that offers no real path to your future, and don’t make the even more serious mistake of taking on that kind of debt. Let’s be clear: your key to breaking into the music business doesn’t lie in a classroom with a bunch of other students, nor does it lie in some sort of online program that offers you no real feedback. Your path to success lies in the music industry itself—with the people who are actually DOING the work, who can show you the ropes and help you make your own connections. The Recording Connection offers this opportunity with our unique music business training program. Instead of placing you in an overpriced classroom, we place you as a working apprentice (extern) with a real music industry professional who is doing the job you want to be doing. As you follow a structured course curriculum, you’ll gain lots of real-world experience as you work alongside your mentor, and you’ll learn how to make the connections you need in order to succeed (and trust us—success in this business is ALL about connections). Best of all, you’ll gain this experience, knowledge and insider access for a FRACTION of what other music schools charge, so you can graduate with little or no debt and get on with your career. The music industry is a highly competitive field, and it’s the smart ones, the ones willing to think outside the box, who are the ones who rise to the top. For you, that begins with making choices about your education that will actually help your career without crushing you with debt. If you’re serious about beating out the competition to become a successful record executive or band manager, the Recording Connection is here to help! [-]
