Course Studies in Business Management in Europe 2017. Business & Management Studies in Barcelona, Spain Business & Management at a glance City: Barcelona Host Institution: IQS Program Duration: Semester Course Load & Credits:Minimum of 4 courses (15 credits) Language of Instruction: English and/or Spanish Minimum Spanish Proficiency: High Beginner Minimum GPA: 2.5/4.0 Prerequisites: Two semesters of college-level Spanish Business & Management If you want a truly international perspective on business, it just won’t do to stay cooped up at home. You need to go abroad, and Bridge can help! Our Business & Management Studies program, offered in partnership with Barcelona’s prestigious IQS School of Management, will polish your Spanish skills as you learn the latest in business administration and earn credit toward your degree. From an intensive month of pre-semester Spanish to full-immersion classes with local and international peers, you’ll expand your horizons and build the skills that 21st-century employers demand, all while exploring a fascinating new city and culture. And not just any city. Spain’s second-largest metro area and the capital of Catalonia, Barcelona is a major cosmopolitan center with a rhythm all its own. From the twisted streets of medieval El Raval to the leafy, symmetrical boulevards of regal Eixample, Barcelona overflows with culture and history, its museums and architecture every bit as legendary as its beach parties. Let the city that gave birth to Gaudí’s undulating architecture and fed Dalí’s grandiose imagination inspire you as you study abroad with Bridge! What makes Barcelona unique? If you see an “under construction” sign in front of Barcelona’s Sagrada Familia Basilica, the trippy modernist sandcastle of a cathedral that brought local architect Antoni Gaudí to fame, don’t cancel your visit. This international symbol of the city isn’t closed temporarily for renovation; no, it’s been under construction continuously since 1882! Built from private donations and delayed by the Spanish Civil War, the gothic-meets-Art-Nouveau masterpiece was only just consecrated for religious use in 2010, when building finally passed the midway point. Work is officially forecast to end in 2026—proof that 130 years in, it’s still possible to believe in miracles!
