Film Production The two-year Film Production program is an intensive, hands-on introduction to the art and craft of filmmaking, shaped by the practical needs of the film industry. As a student in the program, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of the film production process from beginning to end, starting with location scouting, scriptwriting and storyboards and continuing through to editing, production design, film business and photography. In addition, you will learn all of what falls in between, including directing, producing, physical and special effects, wardrobe, lights, camera, grip equipment, sound recording and mixing, cinematography, art direction and more. Our state of the art facility is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. You will be required to research, prepare, write and produce a number of film projects including short dramas, documentaries (personal and industrial) and TV commercials. The certificate programs are delivered in an intensive format in which two semesters of credits can be completed in only 15 weeks. Each certificate course comprises 32.5 hours of in-class instruction with an additional 15 hours of technician - guided, independent studio time.
