Course Description The FAA Aircraft dispatcher course contains the same syllabus and subjects covered in the Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL). One must keep in mind when pilots train they have over 2 year from the commencement of flight training to achieving an ATPL. Whereas, all this theory is compressed into a course with a minimum of 200 hours in a very short time. This course has a steep learning curve from start to finish and requires dedication and commitment for course completion. This course is not suitable for procrastinators. Course Options We offer three course options. All three course options require passing the FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Knowledge Test and a Practical Exam with an FAA Designated Aircraft Dispatcher Examiner (DADE). Graduation on this course requires students to pass the end of course evaluation and exceed FAA Practical Test Standards before taking a practical exam with a DADE. OPTION 1 4 Weeks Course: This course is ideal for students with no prior aviation experience. A minimum of 200 hours of this course is done in the class room. This is also the only option available for students using VA benefits such as the GI Bill. FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Knowledge Test must be successfully completed no later than end of week 2 of ground school on this course. OPTION 2 Online and Class Room Course: This course is ideal for students with no prior aviation experience and for those who have time constrains in attending a full time course. Popular with international students, this course is divided into two parts. Of the total minimum 200 hours of this course, a minimum of 152 hours is Online (Part 1) and a minimum of 48 hours is in the Classroom (Part 2). Please be advised the aircraft dispatcher course as mentioned above covers the same syllabus as an Airline Transport Pilot certificate and is very intensive. Therefore, we highly recommend students to opt for a 4 week class room course upon completion of the online portion of this course. A four week class room option offers oneself ample time to complete this course successfully. Part 1 : Aircraft / Flight Dispatcher Online portion Includes a minimum of 152 hours online. This is done at the convince of your own time. Upon completion of part one of the course you will be eligible to progress to part two. The Online Ground School typically takes 3-4 months to complete. While some students may be able to complete the online portion in less than one month, this time vastly varies based on individual student aptitude, effort and time invested in doing the online portion. Maximum time available to access the online ground school for completion is 12 months. After you have completed the online ground school we will require a copy of your Graduation Certificates of your online course. FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Knowledge Test must be successfully completed prior to commencement of Part 2. Part 2 : Aircraft / Flight Dispatcher Class Room portion Includes a minimum of 48 hours of class room ground school at our facility at DuPage Airport. Part 2 must be completed within 12 months of completing Part 1. While Part 2 can be completed in two weeks, we recommend a four week option for students to comfortably complete this course. Upon successful completion of Part 2, you will receive your FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate which is also an ICAO Flight Dispatch License (FDL). OPTION 3 2 Weeks Course: This course is only recommended for students with extensive aviation experience, who meet FAR Part 65.57 and / or FAR Part 65.61(d), or Airline employees who meet either of the above, or Any individual meeting the ADX and online course requirements. FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Knowledge Test must be successfully completed prior to commencement of this two weeks course. The theoretical course will provide you with all the necessary aviation knowledge. The completion of this course is obligatory before proceeding to practical training. It is also the first step in making your dreams of flying come true. In accordance with the European standards and regulations, as expressed in the FCL, theoretical training covers information regarding aviation law, flight rules, navigation and radio navigation, meteorology, airframe structure, performance and maintenance, flight planning and the safety of flight execution, pilotage rules, aeronautical communications, capabilities and limitations of the human body, as well as many other issues that will enable students to familiarize themselves with the basic rules of executing a flight. Our school offers the theoretical PPL(A) training in Polish and in English, based on the program that has been approved by the President of The Civil Aviation Office (CAO), in accordance with the Ventum Air’s ATO certificate. The program includes 79 hours of self-study, coordinated through our e-learning platform and 21 hours of lectures, conducted during one three-day session on the premises of our school. The training lasts 3 weeks and it covers ten subjects, in accordance with FCL. Applicants must be at least sixteen years old and have a complete lower secondary education. The e-learning platform has been fully integrated into the training program at the ATO Ventum Air. It includes over 900 pages of learning materials and aids in a form of PDF presentations and over 400 pages of additional materials, as well as a bank of 2200 exam questions, together with the correct answers. At the end of the training, students sit an internal exam. Those who pass it will obtain a certificate, on the basis of which they will be admitted to the practical part of the training. This certificate is recognized by all the members of The JAA Joint Aviation Authorities. After having passed the internal exam, students are offered a 30-minute introductory flight with an instructor. ATPL(A) theoretical training for the ATPL(A) Airline Transport Pilot License (Aeroplane) is meant for those who want to pursue the career of an airline pilot. This training can also serve as an alternative option for pilots who wish to extend their current license by obtaining the IR(A). Theoretical ATPL(A) training at the ATO Ventum Air is conducted exclusively in English, based on a program that has been approved by the President of The Civil Aviation Office (CAO), in accordance with the Ventum Air’s ATO (Approved Training Organization) certificate. This certificate is recognized by all the members of the JAA. In accordance with the European standards and regulations, as expressed in the FCL rules, the theoretical ATPL(A) training consists of 585 hours of self-study, coordinated through the e-learning platform, which meets the requirements specified in the FCL rules, and 70 hours of lectures, conducted during one ten-day session on the premises of our school. The training lasts 15 weeks and it covers the following 14 subjects: aviation law and air traffic control procedures, principles of flight, meteorology, flight planning, performance, capabilities and limitations of the human body, VFR communications, IFR communications, navigation, radio navigation, aircraft general knowledge, aircraft mass and balance, operational procedures. Applicants must hold a valid PPL(A), issued by a member country of the ICAO International Civil Aviation Organization and must be educated to secondary school level, i.e. A-Level, International Baccalaureate, Abitur, or equivalent standard. Classes are conducted by experienced airline pilots, medical doctors, lawyers, air traffic controllers and people from the world of aviation.
