Program Description

Course in TESL

Crandall University

As Canadians become more mobile than ever before, and as Canada becomes home to more persons from around the globe, teaching English as a second language is becoming a popular career both in Canada and abroad, and the demand for high quality, trained ESL instructors continues to grow. Crandall’s TESL Certificate Program prepares instructors for the ESL classroom by introducing the theory, methodology, and practical skills they will need to teach effectively.

Why TESL at Crandall?

The TESL Program at Crandall is recognized by TESL Canada as meeting the requirements for Professional Certificate Standard One. It is designed and taught by Graeme Ching (Level 4 Professional Certification from TESL Canada; former owner of Aurora English in Fujinomiya, Japan; author of Teaching English: A Practical Introduction(forthcoming)) and includes academic coursework, practical activities and assignments, and a teaching practicum. The TESL courses may be taken individually, towards the TESL Certificate, or as part of a university degree.
