This course is for people wanting to develop a broad range of skills and knowledge needed to work in the horticulture industry. Industry positions include horticulturist, gardener.
You will learn about safety in the workplace and environmentally sustainable work practices, as well as skills selected from areas such as: plants and soils; pest management; arboriculture; landscaping; nursery practices; parks and gardens; turf construction and management; biosecurity; chemicals use; irrigation and water; machinery operation; and industry work practices.
It is recommended that students have completed a Certificate 2 in Horticulture or have experience in the industry prior to attempting the Certificate 3 in Horticulture.
You will complete core units of study in the following areas:
- Contribute to OHS processes
- Implement and monitor environmentally sustainable work practices

While there are no formal academic entry requirement for this course, for student visa purposes you may be required to show successful completion of an academic qualification equivalent to Year 10 or Year 12. Competency in English language to academic IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL (iBT) 46 or Certificate 3 in Advanced English for Further Study or equivalent.
