Course Description

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who provide leadership and strategic direction in the marketing activities of an organisation.

Entry Requirements

Academic: Year 12 or equivalent. English proficiency.

Course Duration, Mode / Fees

Full time: 4 Terms (52 weeks)including term breaks

Study Pathway and Career Opportunities

Pathways into the qualification:

Candidates may enter the qualification through a number of entry points demonstrating potential to undertake vocational education and training advanced diploma level, including:

  • BSB51207 Diploma ofMarketing or other relevant qualification
  • OR with substantial vocational marketing experience,with overall responsibility for providing strategic direction and planning for an organisation’s marketing function, either domestically or internationally but without a formal marketing qualification
  • OR with extensive vocational marketing experience in senior marketing positions with a wide range of skills in a specialised marketing communications discipline and looking to consolidate specialist marketing skills with more generic management skills, but without a formal marketing qualification.

At any point prior to completion of program a learner may results in a statement of attainment for an individual unit where the learner has been assessed as competent.

After successful completion of:

Advanced Diploma of Marketing encouraged to continue further studies at University degree levels in a variety of associated disciplines, including Business studies, Commerce,Marketing or Advertising.

Learners may complete individual units of competency and receive a statement of attainments for that unit.

Job roles and titles vary across different industry sectors.

Possible job titles relevant to this qualification include:

  • Marketing Director
  • Marketing Strategist
  • Marketing Manager


All units of competence will be assessed using a selection of tools. Portfolios, essays,reports, role-plays, practical observations, case studies,questioning, simulation activities and written tests may be used to gather evidence for the unit of competency. Recognition of PriorLearning (RPL) is recognized at TCWA as a process where a student may be granted credit or partial credit towards a qualification in recognition of skills and knowledge which a student has gained through work experience, life experience and/or formal training.
