This course is intended for professionals working in the fashion and luxury retail industry, with at least five years of work experience. Its aim is to upgrade and expand your skillset while reinforcing a comprehensive view of visual merchandising.
This accelerated learning experience includes 40 contact hours over two weeks. You will explore all the areas upon which a visual merchandiser can act, from the outside – in the street or in the public spaces of a mall – and within the store. You will analyze the ways in which a brand can visually express its identity and showcase its products in order to attract the attention of the client and to offer an emotionally engaging experience. To help you to achieve this, you will examine design principles in order to understand the different means available to help you to create a brand-specific aesthetic environment and an appropriate scenography for the products.
As you prepare to work as a senior visual merchandiser, you need not only VM techniques but also the ability to bring both an aesthetic and a commercial sense to your work. In order to reinforce this double vision, the course will help you to incorporate sales analysis and an understanding of the brand’s communications strategy into your activity, so that you can contribute fully to the brand’s retail operations.
In addition to expert-led lectures that articulate key principles and best practices, you will participate in regular group workshops and exercises in the Center’s simulation showroom.
By the end of the course, you will have reinforced your existing knowledge of visual merchandising and practiced using new techniques. You will also have developed a more managerial perspective, in order to become a strategic partner to the sales, merchandising and communications teams.
You are a professional with at least five years’ experience as a visual merchandiser for a national or international brand in the fashion and luxury retail sector.
